Biological Filter Bottle with two stage filtering process will treat 80 gallons or 480 bottles of drinking water. It has two independent filters that are connected by an adapter, allowing the replacement of either filter. The Pre-Filter As a Pre-Filter in the Biological bottle, the "Level 2" carbon composite filter removes 95% of the Chlorine, Lead, Mercury, Copper, VOCs, and PCBs at a flow rate of 10ml/sec. This carbon composite filter functions as a pre-filter reducing small particulate matter extending the life of the Sub-Micron Biological Filter. The carbon composite filter also removes the taste of a disinfectant that may be added, like chlorine, if viral contamination is suspected. The Biological Filter The Sub-Micron Biological Filter provides for the removal of bacteria, cysts, cryptosporidium, and protozoa from contaminated water. In independent testing conducted in accordance with EPA protocol, the Sub-Micron Biological Filter removed over 99.99% of cysts and 99.9999% bacteria at EPA protocol concentrations. This bottle has even been certified to remove anthrax spores! Similar to the sport bottle, this product is filled with water and squeezed to pass the water through the dual filter elements. The plastic used for this bottle is Number 4 LDPE - safe for continued reuse. For COMPLETE disinfection and removal of biological agents, bacteria, cryptosporidium, protozoa, and anthrax, use the Redi-Chlor tablets along with the Biological Bottle. Make ANY water drinkable! Simply drop chlorine tablet in bottle and fill up from lakes, streams, rivers, or other unsafe water sources. Chlorine Tablets will kill any viruses and organisms. As you drink, the carbon filter will remove the harsh chlorine taste and odor. Finally, the water passes through the Biological Filter which will remove any bacteria and biological agents including anthrax. It is important to use both the chlorine and biological filter together for complete removal.
